With clubs like Chelsea bringing in foreign talent, and with the already existing wealth of talent in the Premier League. I have identified 7 players that will be in contention for the player of the year award.

Kevin De Bruyne(Man City)

The Belgian magician enjoyed a stellar campaign last season recording a record equaling 20 assists and scored 13 goals. With De Bruyne’s keen eye for a pass and set peice ability there’s no reason why he can’t surpass those numbers this season. De Bruyne was arguably the best player last campaign so there’s no doubt he won’t be in the mix this season.

Kai Havertz (Chelsea)

With Chelsea closing in on the transfer of Havertz I’ll include him in this list. Havertz was involved in 18 league goals(12G 6A) in the Bundesliga last season but with the 21 year old linking up with Chelsea talents like Pulisic, Mount, Werner and the rest of the team, there’s no reason why those numbers can’t increase and put him right in contention for the award.

Bruno Fernandes (Man United)

Since joining Manchester united in January Bruno Fernandes has recorded 8 goals and 7 assists in 14 league appearances and lost 0 league games. His impressive stats has left me wondering that if he keeps this form next season he would for sure be in the player of the season conversation.

ree

Raheem Sterling (Man City)

Sterling has been an ever present figure for Man City since Pep Guardiola took charge hitting double figure goals for 3 seasons in a row and also getting nominated for the player of the year award in those seasons. With that being said he is expected to make the list again as long as his keeps his form.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspurs)

Spurs talisman Harry Kane is a household name in the Premier League with the payer banging in goals on a very regular basis. Even with him missing almost 2 months of last season due to injury he still managed 18 goals in 29 games. But with Spurs not participating in any summer tournament and with Mourinho having his first “preseason” with Spurs, Kane will be in contention for the award.

ree

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Since Salah joined the premier league he has been an ever present for Liverpool scoring 75 goals in 3 seasons. He won the PFA player of the year award in 2018, despite not making the shortlist for the previous season I back him to have yet another impressive season and be in the reckoning the award this campaign.

ree

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

Trent is a player that has improved season after season building on his 12 assists and 1 goal in the 18/19 season finishing with 13 assists and 4 goals last season and he got nominated for the PFA player of the year as well as PFA young player of the year. And with the 21 year old Englishman still improving his form will be pivotal to Liverpool’s title defense and he might just be in the mix for player of the season again.
